Privacy Policy

This notice explains how EnergyCheck24 processes personal data when you use this website, contact us or request energy offers.

Last updated: 31 October 2026.

1. Controller and contact

The controller under the GDPR is Mustafa Aydin, owner of the sole proprietorship EnergyCheck24, Dillingenstraße 26, 89134 Blaustein, Germany. Phone and WhatsApp: +49 174 6161983. Email: contact@energycheck24.com.

2. Data, purposes and legal bases

When you make an enquiry, we process the information you provide, such as your name, contact details, business details, requested service, message and information from an electricity or gas bill. We use it to respond to your enquiry and research suitable energy offers. Where you request an offer or brokerage, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps and performance of a contract). For general enquiries, we rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in responding to messages sent to us. We obtain separate consent for advertising or optional services where required.

3. Website access and server logs

When you visit the website, the hosting server processes technical connection data, including IP address, time, requested URL, data volume, status message, browser and operating system information. This is used to provide, maintain and protect the website. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Log data is retained only as long as necessary for secure operation and investigation of faults or attacks, then deleted or anonymised unless legal obligations require otherwise.

4. Contact, WhatsApp and market briefing

If you contact us by form, email, telephone or WhatsApp, we process the information you provide to handle your enquiry. WhatsApp/Meta also processes messages and contact details under its own privacy policy and may process data outside the European Economic Area. If you sign up for the Energy Market Briefing, your email address is processed for that request; regular messages are sent only on the basis of a separate consent.

5. Uploaded bills and files

If you upload an electricity or gas bill, we review the information relevant to your enquiry. The form accepts PDF, JPG and PNG files (up to six files, 10 MB each and 20 MB in total). Files are temporarily processed on the website server and then sent with your enquiry by email to EnergyCheck24. An email may also include a CSV summary of the form data that can be opened in spreadsheet software. Temporary server files are deleted after sending. The email and attachments remain in our mailbox only as long as needed to handle the enquiry, unless statutory retention duties apply. Please upload only documents needed for your request; do not send passwords, login credentials or full payment details.

6. Offer research and brokerage

We first review your information and research suitable electricity or gas offers. Where necessary for the offer search you requested, relevant tariff and consumption data may be shared with cooperation partners or energy suppliers, limited to what is necessary. We submit an application for a specific supply contract only after we have presented a suitable offer, you have selected it and you have expressly instructed us to submit the application. The supply contract is concluded between you and the selected supplier; EnergyCheck24 acts as broker.

7. Recipients and external services

Recipients may include our business email account, technical website and email service providers and, where needed for your offer request, cooperation partners and energy suppliers. The selected supplier receives application data only after your express instruction. Processors acting on our behalf are contractually bound as required by their role. If you use WhatsApp or click to load the initially blocked Google Maps map, the respective provider processes technical data. Google may receive connection data such as your IP address when the map loads. WhatsApp/Meta may process data outside the EEA.

8. Retention

Enquiry data and bills received by email are retained in our enquiry mailbox while needed for handling and offer research, then deleted unless statutory retention duties or another lawful reason require continued storage. If brokerage or supply contracts result, documents required for evidence or accounting are retained for the applicable statutory periods, which depend on the document and relevant commercial and tax rules.

9. Website analytics

We use Independent Analytics to measure use of this website. According to the plugin provider, a hashed visitor identifier is generated from the IP address and browser information; analytics data is stored in our WordPress database. The provider states that raw IP addresses are not stored for this analytics function and that it does not use analytics cookies. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving website use and technical performance. The identifier is refreshed monthly and analytics data is automatically deleted after no more than one year. Repeat visits may therefore be recognised only to a limited extent. Non-essential access to information on your device takes place only with prior consent under Section 25 TDDDG.

The Google Maps map is not loaded until you click to load it. Google may then receive technical connection data. More information is available in Google’s privacy policy.

10. Your rights and complaints

Subject to statutory requirements, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. If processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object for reasons relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect; this does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal. Contact us at contact@energycheck24.com to exercise your rights. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.

11. Data security

The website uses HTTPS. Form enquiries and uploaded files are temporarily processed on the website server and sent to EnergyCheck24 by email. We limit processing to what is needed for your request and use appropriate technical and organisational measures.
